villefranche-sur-mer the cutest little village!!

lunch - petite friture. we've had this like 3x already!

we spent the day in a little town east of Nice today. this is the cutest little village ever! different colored buildings with contrasting colored window panes, emerald clear water, and a bunch of cafes and restaurants line the marina. above the marina are tons of shops and cafes/restaurants also, just take the stairs up. only bad thing is are the mosquitoes...they are freaking slick as hell, you won't even feel them bite you, 2 minutes later, welts! i guess just stay away from areas with trees or moist plants. otherwise...cutest village ever!

a few days in the Med (Mediterranean for non europeans)

Cannes

Monaco

We are finally here in the french riviera and have been here for a week. we have one more week to go until we set sail for cote d'azur and the spanish isles. So far, we've just been hangin out at the beaches, visited Cannes, Monaco, and a little cute village called Villefranche-Sur-Mer. Cannes is cleaner and a little better than Nice in terms of shops, streets and partying. Although Nice has better beaches. Monaco is another story. Do not come here without money and i mean DO NOT come here without $$$$$$$$ or you will feel the pain of being a pauper! First of all, you have to pay to get into the casino, all the taxis are high end luxury cars, hard to get, and can get pricey. We've realized it's hard to get around Monaco without a boat, a helicopter of your own, or your own driver. Oh, and shopping...ummm yeah, i forgot about that too. next time hopefully we'll be ready! hehe

woohoo!! yeah!!! ibiza!!

Do you see what i see!?

The trees all over Ibiza

we flew out to ibiza monday early monday morning and got there in an hour and a half. we stayed at sta. eulalia not knowing it was one of the main marina/ports of ibiza, with minimal nightlife. luckily the concierge told us about formentera, an island which is a ferry ride away from where we were. thank goodness we decided to go! it was hell getting there but it was soooo worth it!!
beautiful clear turquoise waters with lots of beautiful boats and people to go along with. it's a place where they hide tom ford and armani models - no joke. we would have taken pictures of them but didn't want to look like retarded filipino/american stalkers so instead, we laid out, drank lots of wine, acted like snobs and kicked sand on them like they didn't matter. unfortunately, we had to go back to sta. eulalia by late afternoon/night. had we known that the crazy nightlife also happens in formentera, we would have booked our hotel there!!! the next day we went to some place called cala llonga - never again! the water and the people were gross. our last night was pretty chill as we had another early morning flight to catch. note to self --> do not go to ibiza unless you have a yacht. maybe next time... video

santorini

my dramatic long hair pool exit

my swimming brieps!

The climb was too crazy to do. so we did the cable car.

the greek pour.

The grek guys telling us all about santorini.

we just got back from a 5 day trip to santorini. we stayed at imerovigli for the first three days and fira the last two days. after 4 full days, we learned that you should get a hotel in Oia, which is more the picturesque side of santorini, with its bright white walls, royal blue rooftops and blazing sunsets. After sunset, start heading down to the town of Fira, which is a little more lively with lots of bars, lounges, shopping and restaurants. unfortunately, we didn't walk down to amoundi bay to swim in the ocean, we were too lazy to walk back up...maybe next time. after seeing almost all the european men wearing tight swimming trunks and speedos, roland was forced to trash his baggy boardshorts and buying tight swimming trunks. our last breezy night was spent in fira, drinking champagne at Vertigo Bar & Lounge overlooking the caldera with a live band playing marley...
